A Look at the Process of Building Demolition
The building demolition process relies on a series of complex and carefully coordinated procedures in order to safely remove all remnants of a building. In order to successfully perform a building demolition, a contractor must use the correct tools and equipment . By choosing the proper equipment for the demolition process, a contractor can ensure that the job is completed to the highest safety standards. Let’s take a look inside how the building demolition process works.
Drill Dynamite Holes
The first step of building demolition is to locate and drill all of the holes that will be used during the procedure. In order to demolish a building, a contractor must carefully place dynamite throughout the structure. Typically, the dynamite is placed in a vertical pattern along the support structures of the building. By placing dynamite in the correct areas, the contractor can make sure that the demolition goes smoothly.
Insert and Cap Dynamite
The next step of building demolition is to insert and cap all of the dynamite that will be used during the process. Each drilled hole contains enough space for a stick of dynamite and its cap. Each stick of dynamite is linked to a single detonator cable, which is responsible for initiating the blast.
Detonate the Dynamite
Once the dynamite and detonator cable have been safely secured, it will be time to demolish the building. A person known as a blaster will take the steps needed to detonate the cable. As the cable detonates the dynamite, the building will collapse in a series of timed explosions.

Carefully Research Your Options
When it comes to selecting the right materials for your kitchen countertops, it’s important to make a well-informed decision. Each material offers its own aesthetic and practical advantages and will require different installation approaches as well as different tools from an equipment rental company.

Caring for Your Lawn During the Fall Season
Now that fall is here, it’s the best time to start thinking about preparing your lawn for the season. With the right equipment from your San Jose tool rental company and a bit of perseverance, you can get the yard surrounding your home or business in top shape. Here are some tips for caring for your lawn during the fall season.
Continue with Your Watering Routine
Just because the summer is drawing to an end doesn’t mean it’s time to cut back on watering your lawn. Be sure to continue watering your lawn regularly, avoiding peak hours as much as possible until the temperatures cool down. With drought afflicting most of the state, your lawn could be susceptible to drying out if not adequately watered.
Break Out the Fertilizer
Fall is the perfect season for San Jose area residents to get to work fertilizing cool-season grasses. If you plan to grow bluegrass or ryegrass, rent a manure spreader from your local equipment rental company and lay down fertilizer sporadically from September to November.
Patch Up Bare Spots with Sod
Another simple strategy for maintaining your lawn during the fall is to patch up any bare spots that died during the summer with some sod. Laying sod with your hands can be a challenge if the sod is not the right size, so be sure to utilize a sod cutter from a tool rental provider to assist you with this task.
Eliminate Those Pesky Leaves
Leaf piles are a breeding ground for insects, so be sure to remove them as they accumulate in your yard. A simple way to get rid of fallen leaves is to remove them using a rake from your San Jose equipment rentals store or to mulch them with a specially designer mulching mower.
You can find all of the equipment you need to keep your lawn looking its best right here at A Tool Shed Equipment Rentals . To learn more about the tools and equipment we carry or the rental process, visit one of our Bay Area locations or call (831) 359-4769.

Signs that You Need a Dehumidifier
Outdoor humidity levels are almost always too high or too low for the average person’s liking. Fortunately, you have the unique opportunity to control the prevailing humidity levels in your home. However, even with a state-of-the-art climate control system in your home, circumstances can arise under which a dehumidifier can help in ridding your home of excess moisture in an effective and efficient manner. Scenarios for which a dehumidifier may be necessary include:
Condensation on Windows and Doors
On a cold winter’s day far from San Jose, a foggy window may suit the mood and give off a charming aura. Window condensation on the interior glass of your Bay Area home’s windows or doors, however, is a sign that your home is too humid. Rent a dehumidifier from an equipment rental specialist shortly after discovering this problem, and you may be able to prevent the growth of mold and mildew and the exacerbated allergy symptoms that result from the presence of these moisture-fed fungi.
Wet Basement
Basement flooding is a common problem that can often be prevented or at least averted with the help of a functional sump pump. Even with a sump pump, however, your basement may be much damper than most rooms in your home. A dehumidifier from an equipment rental specialist can help you keep your basement comfortably dry like the rest of your home.
Musty Smells
A pungent, musty odor is one of the most common signs that mold or mildew is present in your home. If you detect a musty odor in your kitchen, bathroom, or laundry room, rent a dehumidifier to suck up excess moisture in your home. This will prevent mold and mildew from finding the moisture needed to thrive. If it does not, or if you detect potentially threatening mold in your home, contact a toxic mold remediation specialist to assess and rectify the situation.
The next time you find yourself battling moisture in your San Jose area home, rent a dehumidifier from an equipment rental store to mitigate the problem. To enquire about daily, weekly, and monthly dehumidifier rental rates, call A Tool Shed Equipment Rentals at (831) 359-4769 or visit one of our six convenient Bay Area equipment rental locations .

Tips for Picking the Perfect Floor
The fact that flooring gets more use than just about all the furniture, appliances, plumbing fixtures, and other equipment in your home should put into perspective just how important flooring is. As you search for the perfect flooring materials for your home, consider the following factors so that you can make informed and confident flooring decisions for every room.
Household Circumstances
What is the current makeup of your family? How do you anticipate that makeup changing in ten years’ time? Generally speaking, children and pets are harder on flooring materials than are well-mannered adults. If you have young children and pets at home or anticipate that children or pets will make an appearance in your life soon, focus on cheap, stain-resistant materials like linoleum or vinyl flooring.
Relative Moisture Exposure
When selecting flooring materials for rooms with high relative humidity or in which the floors will be splashed with water, resistance to water damage should be a priority. Ceramic tiles and non-porous natural stone flooring are ideal options for bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and elsewhere that moisture exposure is a concern.
Ease of Maintenance
Another factor to consider before selecting flooring materials for your home is the maintenance that will be required to keep it clean and looking good. Rental tools and equipment that can help you clean carpet and tile floors efficiently are available, but it is still wise to opt for flooring materials with recommended cleaning and maintenance requirements that you think you can handle.
Once you decide on flooring materials for the various rooms in your home, adopt a floor cleaning and maintenance schedule to maximize the life of your home’s floors. To rent tile removers, linoleum rollers, and other equipment that can help you with your DIY flooring project or the upkeep of your brand new flooring, call A Tool Shed Equipment Rentals in San Jose at (831) 359-4769 or visit one of our six South Bay locations at your convenience.
